The results are in...

Well, I have some good news and some bad news following yesterdays 9-month check-up. Ethen is now 9 months and 1 week weighing 19 lbs and 14 oz. (he dropped a little wieght doing all that crawling), and he is 27 1/4 inches long. He is pretty average for his age, a little smaller if anything, although people always say what a big boy he is.

The bad news (if you could call it that) is I need to transition him to being fed real baby food and formula by next Friday. That doesn't sound all that hard for a 9 month old, but I'll just say this...the "people food" that he eats now is not really for sustanance, but more for distraction and fun. So, pray for us. It will be good all of us! Posted by Picasa

Hey Robin, you will do great. It's a lot of fun, trying out all the fun baby foods, and getting really messing in the meantime. At first I tried and tried to keep Ethan clean and out of the food, but then it was so much fun letting him try to feed himself and get it all over the place. I bet he will love it too! Good Luck!

What's this with next Friday? If that's instruction from the doctor it seems a little cut and dry...He will do fine though. I had to wing Hannah early because I was pregnant with Rachael and she actually did it easily. Joel and Rachael were much harder, but they were both over a year...I always figured it was the age and swore that if I ever had another baby I would wing them before 1.

Just wondering, why do you need to do the baby food/formula thing by Friday? I agree, that would be hard especially all at once! Good luck, hope he transitions better than Eamon did :(

Long story...but I'll make it short. I have a tumor less than a centimeter on my pituitary gland (that controls your hormones) and it had my prolactin level elevated, which for a long period of time is not good for your body. So, I need to get back on my meds, which cannot be taken while breastfeeding. It's nothing life threatening, but still something I have to deal with. Hope that all made sense

Oh Robin I'm sorry to hear that! We will be praying that it is an easy transition for both of you! Bless you:)

Ahhh, that makes sense...I thought it was just some random doctor's opinion about food and babies...seems like everyone one has a different opinion and even doctors disagree. I am also sorry to hear that, although relieved to hear it is not life threatening. I will be praying for your health and for an easy transition.

Hey Robin, you are doing such a great job with Ethen, he's going to do just fine, and I am really glad to hear that you are doing what you need to do to stay healthy. Keep up the good work, keep the faith and keep me posted. I miss you, it was nice to catch up with you a little on the phone the other day.
