Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you all had a wonderful day. We had our family over to our house (this is our 5th year). It was a yummy meal. This year, I ventured out and made candied yams as well as a fruit salad...hadn't done those 2 before. We had all the usual: turkey (dark meat is my fav), cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, rolls (wheat and potato), green bean casserole, and the usual desserts as well: pumpkin and apple pie and ice cream...and the best (according to Chris) the chocolate cake from Costco. Wow...that was almost 5 lines worth of food.

I started out the day with the usual walk, came home and made the meal, (the turkey took longer than the package said (as usual) and then we ate. It was super yummy...I think I said that already. Then, we waited around for a little while (my mom and I did some sewing while the others napped and watched TV). Then my mom and I went for a walk again. Brrrrrr.

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for my family. We are normal, we have our disfunctions, but I don't think a day goes by that I don't talk to my parents, and a day doesn't go by that Chris or I don't say how much we are in love with our boys. It's true...we love our family. They are a blessing from God.

Happy Thanksgiving to you!!! Yum. Everything you described sounded delicious! It sure was nice to see you, I just wish that we'd had more time, of course. Love you!
