Well, we told everyone the news and the biggest question has been, "Well, are you excited?". The answer is YES. We are totally excited. It has been in our hearts for a long time, at least our entire marriage and maybe even part of our courtship. We have always wanted 2 boys and 2 girls, just like the Jones' family. So, we got what we wanted. Or can I say it a different way. The Lord put in our hearts this desire and we are so glad that it has turned out that way!
We have enjoyed thinking about holding this new baby. As I walk around different stores, it is so neat to see the little tiny pink outfits and imagine myself holding a bundle of pink. Before we get too far, I'm not a weirdo that actually holds the clothes to my body and gets all weird. It is also funny to look at all the baby stuff walking through the aisles and realize how much stuff we DON'T need. Not because we already have kids, it's just that so much stuff seems like a good idea, but when it comes to the practical application of using all that stuff in the nursery, you just don't use it.
So now, about Gracie. Our thoughts...not intentions or hopes, just our thoughts. She seems to kick a lot. That kinda makes me think that she might be kinda spunky in personality. I've even used the fiery red-head type of description. I've kinda imagined those little raspy/froggy type of voices from a cute little square-faced girl with pig tails in her hair. (Oh, you better believe it.) My mom gave me pig tails and we're doing pig tails on this little girl. I'm assuming if she follows suit, she won't have much hair, and for some reason pink doesn't indicate girl, so we'll have to use all sorts of headband type of thingies...help me out here. I was a tomboy so I am a little slow in the girls hair department. At one time, I even had a mohawk. What a nerd! I'm over it though. Still no barrettes though. I have the Carmichaels to help me out in the girl/hair world. Their two girls are absolutely beautiful and have plenty of hair, curly even. Back to Gracie, we think she may be driven and yet somewhat analytical. I do know one things, she's got to be tough to have the 2 big brothers in our house. You know, these really are just our thoughts, so it's totally OK if we are wrong.
Well, that's all for now. What are your thoughts when you think of our first little girl, Grace McKenzie?
