This is my final submission to Jenni's contest for a Crate & Barrel gift card. Last chance for you to join the fun! I made these the other night for my Pampered Chef party and they were both a hit (and easy...one of my favorite food attributes):
Mulled Pomegranate Sipper:
1 bottle (64 oz) cranberry-apple juice
2 cups unsweetened apple juice
1 cup pomegranate juice
2/3 cup honey
1/2 cup orange juice
3 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
10 whole cloves
2 Tbsp grated orange peel
In a 5-qt. slow cooker, combine the first 5 ingredients. Place the cinnamon sticks and cloves on a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up corners of cloth and tie with string to form a bag. Add to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 1-2 hours. Discard spice bag. Enjoy!
Fruit Cookie Pizza:
1 roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1 pkg. cream cheese
1 cup whip cream
1/2 c. sugar
Fruit suggestions: Kiwi, strawberries, mandarin oranges, bananas, blueberries
Spread cookie dough over pizza pan. Cook the crust as directed on wrapper. Let cool.
Soften cream cheese in microwave. Whip until fluffy. Add whip cream and sugar. Mix thoroughly. (Don't dip your finger and lick, no matter the temptation.) Spread cream cheese mixture on top of cooled cookie. Cut and lay fruit in circles. Serve immediately.
